Series 4 of record group 84-48 consists of material relating to regional studies of forestry and forestry management in specific geographical regions of Michigan for the years 1929-37. The Antrim Iron Area contains a study of private landowners and forest management being practiced in the Antrim region in 1938; a proposal to band local landowners into a co-op; and photos showing views of the Antrim Iron Company, along with views of forest land practices, forest products and forest industries. A study of forest types in Alger County was prepared by Gilbert Stewart in 1929, containing economic data and photos. A study on the forests of Iron County was prepared by the Land Economic Survey in 1930. The Pigeon River project study was prepared by Marcus Schaaf in 1932, with the report are nine township plats showing plantations and roads.
